ALBEMARLE -- Mrs. Gladys Marie Jones Beard, 80, 606 Fernwood Drive, Albemarle, N.C., 28001, died at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011, in Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle, N.C.
Her funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Stanly Fu-neral Home chapel, with the Rev. Mark Weekley officiating.
Born Jan. 1, 1931, in Sampson County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Marion Thomas and Mattie Hudson Jones.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Jones Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She was married to Waymond Edward Beard for 61 years.
Other survivors include two sons, James Edward Beard and wife, Kimberly, of Albemarle, N.C., and Tony Wayne Beard and wife, Debbie, of Goldsboro, N.C.; a brother, David Jones of Burlington, N.C.; two grandchildren, Stephanie McClelland and husband, Greg, of Kannapolis, N.C., and Adam Wayne Beard and wife, Amity, of New Mexico; and four great-grandchildren, Peyton, Trista, Aidan and Shyann.
The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home Inc. Saturday from 2 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the hour of the service.
