Mildred Marie Bryan Brown, 83, passed away Wednesday evening.

Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Lisker and Maude Creel Bryan, wife of the late Robert Nathan Brown, mother of the late Richard Warren and sister of the late Carroll Bryan.

A member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Monday Bible study group.

She was formerly employed with Mount Olive Sportswear and Village Restaurant.

A loving Mama, she was devoted to caring for her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Danny Freuler officiating.

Family members will greet friends at the funeral home immediately following the funeral service, and at other times will be at the home of Mrs. Brown, 931 Grantham School Road in Goldsboro.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her children, Kay and Carl Hill of LaGrange, Denise and Keith Thornton of Grantham, Bonnie Sue and Tommy Tucker of Faison, Robert Jr. and Wilma Brown of Goldsboro and David Warren of Goldsboro; three sisters, Virginia Sullivan of Grantham, Maxine Lipscomb of Dudley and Edna Earl Grantham of Grantham; her grandchildren, Simon and Erin Hill, Tammy and Danny Hall, Crystal Keen, Kayla Thornton, Carla and Eli Hudson, Amy and Ted Parcel, Haley Warren, John Thornton, Skip and Angie Tucker and Ashley and Ben Sullivan; and 12 great-grandchildren.
