Mrs. Essie Mae Sears Coley, 90, 110 Woods Mill Road, Goldsboro, N.C., died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at her residence.
A celebration of her life and legacy will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 12 noon at Hooks Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pikeville, N.C., with pastor Harold Warren and pastor emeritus Johnnie Sherrard officiating. Burial will follow in Hooks Grove Cemetery.
A public viewing will be held Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C.
Memories of her legacy are treasured by three children, Mary Elizabeth (Robert) Evans of Goldsboro, N.C., Theressa (Michael) Vine of Staten Island, N.Y., and Jonah Coley of Goldsboro, N.C.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; a special caregiver, Laura Maryon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services have been entrusted to Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C.
