FREMONT -- Clinton "Dub" Dubberly passed away Sunday morning at his home.

Dub was born in Pierce County, Ga., April 16, 1922, to the late Isham and Mary Blocker Dubberly. He was married to the late La Monte Hill Dubberly.

Dub owned and operated Dubberly Plumbing and Electric in Fremont, and was a member of Fremont United Methodist Church.

He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Dub was a founding member of Fremont Rescue Squad, and served as the former chief of Fremont Fire Department.

He was a 3rd degree Mason with Fremont Masonic Lodge 613 A.F. & A.M.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Fremont United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Judy Drye officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.

Dub is survived by his daughters, Mary Susan Stevenson and husband, Bob, of Austin, Texas, and Joan LaMonte Norton and husband, Eddie, of Fremont; his son, David Dubberly and wife, Debbie, of Franklin, Va.; his grandchildren, Jessica Dubberly Hoffman and husband, Chris, Rob Stevenson and wife, Jessica, Dave Abernathy, Nick Dubberly and Elle Dubberly; and his five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Nona Faye Mallard and Pauline Horne both of Georgia.

With loving gratitude, the family would like to thank the Fremont community and Mr. Dubberly's caregivers, Edna Evans, Susan Martin, Kathy Fischel, Teresa Clayton and Angie Garris, for the love and support shown to him during his time of declining health.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at his home, 205 Hooks Ave., Fremont.
