ROSA MASSENGILL DAVIS

Died Aug. 8, 2010

PIKEVILLE -- Rosa Massengill Davis, 96, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Mrs. Davis was born in Johnston County to the late Needham Carroll and Geneva Holt Massengill. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel, with pastor Bill Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral.

Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons, William Bryan Davis Jr. and wife, Leona, of Goldsboro and David Earl Davis Sr. and wife, Joyce, of Friendswood, Texas; two daughters, Ann Davis Jones and husband, Commie, of Pikeville and Sue Davis Faulk and husband, Hank, of Princeton; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a half-brother-in-law, Everett Morrison of Pikeville.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William Bryan Davis, Sr.; one daughter and son-in-law, Loraine Davis Burch and husband, Johnnie; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; four brothers; and five sisters.
