ANNIE GRAY HOBBS

Annie Gray Copeland Hobbs, 89, a resident of the Sterling House, passed away on Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The family will receive friends today from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. in Maplewood Cemetery.

Mrs. Hobbs was born in Bertie County to the late Lafayette Copeland and Mamie Matthews Copeland. She was married to the late Jesse N. Hobbs, a retired military officer. Mrs. Hobbs had worked as a telephone operator for Southern Bell and was a member of First Baptist Church in Suffolk, Va.

Mrs. Hobbs is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Stewart G. Cox of Goldsboro and her grandson, Jesse Cox.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
