FREMONT-- Beulah Mae Barnes, 88, passed away Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. Dr. Richard Glosson will officiate.
Ms. Barnes was born on January 20, 1921, to the late William Allen Barnes and Mattie Ballance Barnes. She was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church, where she attended until her health declined.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Parrish and husband, Wilton, of Fremont; one granddaughter, Tiffany Parrish of Lumberton; two nieces and two nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Barnes was preceded in death by one brother, William S. Barnes; and two sisters, Annie Barnes Turner and Jean Barnes.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 North Pine Street in Fremont.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed in memory of Beulah to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27533, or to Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1283 Union Grove Church Road, Fremont, NC 27830.
