JAMES A. EDWARDS

James Allen Edwards, 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 at Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. James Herring, the Rev. Dock Hobbs and the Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Visitation will follow. Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

He served in the United States Army and was involved in World War II.

He was retired from Lowes as the window shop manager. He was a member of Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church for 51 years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pearl Millard Edwards; a son, James Ira Edwards and wife, Connie; daughters, Jackie E. Sallee and husband, Butch, and Connie E. Hobbs and husband, Dock; grandchildren, Tracey Davis and husband, Dolton, Shelley Thompson, and husband, Kevin, Chris Hobbs and wife, Jamie, Kelley Ridgle and husband, James, Lisa Crocker and husband, Michael, and Curtis Hobbs; great-grandchildren, Lauren Davis, Blake Davis, Holden Ridgle, Kristen Ridgle, Tyler Thompson, Abby Crocker, Alexa Crocker and Kaitlyn Ridgle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Effie Edwards; brothers; Estel Edwards, Reuben Edwards and Earl Edwards; and a sister, Gertrude E. Millard.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
