MOUNT OLIVE -- Hazel Jean McCullen Edwards, 95, 403 Raynor Mill Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Friendly Holiness Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Marvin Bryant and Carlton Moore officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Newton Grove.
Hazel was born in Sampson County Aug. 14, 1914, to the late Claude and Bessie McCullen.
She leaves behind cherished memories to a sister, Darlee Parker of Goldsboro; sons, Edwin R. Edwards (Joyce) of Goldsboro and Leslie Mack Edwards (Rosalind) of Clinton; daughters, Mable E. Johnson (Keith) of Geneva, Fla., Annette E. Kennedy (Thomas) of Grantham; a daughter-in-law, Minnie Edwards of Newton Grove; 11 beloved grandchildren; 18 beloved great-grandchildren; and very special nieces and nephews.
We would like to give a special thanks to Alison, RN; LaTasha, RN; and Carolyn of Community Home Care and Hospice.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home.
