NELSON M. WALKER

MOUNT OLIVE -- Nelson Mills Walker, 78, 661 Garner's Chapel Road, died Sunday morning at Duplin General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lamarr Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service; at other times, they will be at the home. Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Walker, the only son of the late Oscar Mills Walker and Pearl West Walker, was a member of Brock's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He was a retired custodian at Guilford East of Kenansville, and in earlier years, he had been a barber.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Pate Walker of the home; five children and their spouses, Rex and Ellen Moody of Clinton, Miles and Rose Moody of Kenly, Becky and Yates Ivey of Mount Olive, Emery and Lisa Walker of Mount Olive and Christy and Ricky McCoy of Mount Olive; and eight grandchildren, Brittany Moody Serafini, Kalyn Moody, Blake Bizzell, Courtney Ivey, Benjamin Ivey, Marissa Walker, Samantha Walker and Rishod McCoy.
