PIKEVILLE -- Robert P. Bushee, 303 Sweeten Branch Drive, died Wednesday at University Health Systems Inpatient Hospice in Greenville after a battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 610 Mount Carmel Church Road, Pikeville, with the Rev. David Hollowell officiating.
Robert was born in Bennington, Vt., to the late Rolin Bushee and late Eloise Twist Bushee.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara Jones Bushee; four sons, David Bushee of Vermont, Duane Bushee and wife, Beverly, Douglas Bushee and wife, Sue, and Vince Horne all of North Carolina; five daughters, Denise Bush and husband, Greg, of Arizona, Renee Falco and husband, Matt, of New York, Linda West and husband, Todd, Beverly Pate and husband, Ronnie, and Sandra Murphy and husband, Jon, all of North Carolina; two brothers, Henry Bushee and wife, Barbara, of Vermont, and Eugene Bushee and wife, Judy, of New York; three sisters, Marguerite Rogers of New York, Rose Patnode of New York and Yvonne Tatro and husband, Don, of Massachusetts; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family requests no flowers, but memorials may be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 10, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
