Dorothy Howard Cherry, 84, of 916-A Carver Drive, peacefully entered eternal rest Thursday in the UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill.
Her life will be celebrated and eulogized Monday at 11 a.m. at Holly Hill Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, Best Station with Dr. Eugene Williams officiating. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest in the Old Mill Cemetery.
She leaves cherished, precious memories her children Linda, Majorie, Jackie of Goldsboro, Melvin, Tony, Johnathan, Ronnie and Timothy, Clark Kent of New York, John Henry of Washington, D.C.; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; her brother, Nathaniel (Bert) Howard; sister, Helen (David) Forbes of Elizabeth City; son-in-law, Willie Joseph Walker of Georgia; sister-in-law, Eva Howard of Goldsboro; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today from 2 until 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends at the residence, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
