WILLIAM B. FIELDS

PIKEVILLE -- William Blaney Fields, 83, passed away this morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with Andy Bunn, Ken Spivey and Eric Woods officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Fields Family Cemetery, 1306 NorAm Road, Pikeville.

Bill was born in Johnston County, son of the late Dock Fields and Amy Mitchell Fields.

He was a retired farmer in the Nahunta community. Bill was a member of Nahunta Friends Church.

Bill is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Mary Rachel Peele Fields; his daughters, Suzanne Pope and husband, Greg, of Pikeville and Nina Jackson and husband, Keith, of Goldsboro; his son, Randy Fields and wife, Kathy, of Pikeville; his grandchildren, Carmen Pope, Randall Fields and wife, Leah, Ryan Fields and Rachel Jackson; his great-granddaughter, Abigail Marie Fields; and his sister, Joyce Barbour of Smithfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Forrest Pope; his sisters, Martha Holland, Beulah Wallace, Annie Howard, Lois Musgrave and Catherine Holland; and his brothers, Archie Fields, Buck Fields and Dewey Fields.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Nahunta Friends Church, 2537 NC 581 north, Pikeville, NC, 27863.

The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home in Nahunta.
