SNOW HILL -- Mr. Charles B. "Radar" Roberson, 44, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Duke University Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. today, Aug. 9, 2009, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Rev. Doug Nalley officiating. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
A native of Greene County, he was born Nov. 10, 1964, the son of the late Melvin Earl Roberson and Dorothy Brooks Roberson. He worked with Pitt and Greene EMC as a lineman until retiring due to disabling health. Charlie had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.
His surviving family includes his wife, Sharon L. Roberson; mother, Dorothy Brooks Roberson of Snow Hill; daughter, Lindsey Michelle Roberson of Snow Hill; stepchildren, Andrew Wallace of Winston-Salem and Jessica Barratt of Snow Hill; a sister, Gladys Shirley of Hookerton; brothers, Melvin Earl Roberson Jr. of Ayden, R.T. Roberson and Donald Roberson both of Snow Hill, Billy Roberson and Pat Roberson both of Ayden, and Lynn Roberson of Maury; a grandson, Sheaquon Langley; his parents-in-law, Stuart and Maureen Barratt of Goldsboro; and several nieces, nephews and many special friends.
The family will receive friends today from 3 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the home of Lynn Roberson, 3863 Hwy. 123 N., Maury. Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to Duke University Medical Center, Lung Transplant Center, 2301 Erwin Road, Durham, NC 27710.
