Ruth Mae Rhodes, 82, formerly of Kingston, Pa., died peacefully Friday in Goldsboro following a brief illness.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at a memorial service Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Goldsboro.

Following the service, her brother and sister-in-law, George and Bertha Wolfskeil, invite guests to return to their home for a gathering in Ruth's honor.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clara and George Wolfskeil.

She was employed by Leslie Fay Factory as a seamstress for many years.

She loved to garden, sew, quilt, play cards, travel and bake. Her true joy over the past couple of years was baby-sitting Madison and Makenzie; she loved them as if they were her own grandchildren.

Ruthie was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and for the past nine years was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Goldsboro.

Surviving are her daughter, Ellen Beky of Laflin, Pa.; son, Paul Rhodes of Gainesville, Fla.; brother, George Wolfskeil and wife, Bertha, with whom she resided in Goldsboro; grandchildren, Andrew Beky and wife, Gena, and great-grandson, Michael, all of Macungie, Pa.; Amy Haydu and husband, Aaron, of Forty Fort, Pa.; Megan Rhodes and fiancé, Matt Bohn, of Denver, Colo.; Corey Rhodes of Gainesville, Fla., Amanda Drew and husband, Peter, of Denver, Colo.; Jamie Olsen and husband, Cliff, of Gainesville, Fla.; nieces; and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rhodes; brother, Gordon Wolfskeil; and sister, Arline Wills.

Ruthie will be greatly missed and always loved by all who knew her.
