RALEIGH -- Blanche Stroud Pollock died Sunday at the Blue Ridge Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Dutton officiating. Burial will follow in Willowdale Cemetery.

Blanche was born in Wayne County to the late Christopher C. Stroud and Mollie Wallace Stroud.

She was employed as a telephone operator for Southern Bell and was active in the Pioneer Club.

Blanche was a member of Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church and the Daniels Morning Circle. She had also taught Sunday school since the age of 16.

Mrs. Pollock is survived by her son, Ray Pollock of Goldsboro; her daughter, Molly Ann Birth and husband, Randy, of Raleigh; a sister, Irene Worrell and husband, Harold, of Goldsboro; and her grandchildren, William Donald Birth, Christopher Raymond Birth and Bridget Lynn Birth.

In addition to her parents, Blanche was preceded in death by her three sisters, Estelle Stroud Strickland, Emily Stroud Capps and Lois Elizabeth Stroud, and a brother, Charles Stroud.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence of Irene and Harold Worrell, 4909 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church Children's Fund, 2803 E. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
