Phoebe Newsome, 73 died Friday morning at Britthaven of Goldsboro.
Her life and memory will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at First African Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Louis Leigh Jr. officiating. She will be laid to rest in Becton Cemetery in Eureka.
Precious memories are cherished by her sisters, Jacqueline Newsome Hibbert of Goldsboro and Geraldine Newsome of Snow Hill.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends at other times at the home of her sister, Jacqueline Newsome Hibbert, 104 Eleanor Place, Goldsboro, where they will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
