DEBBIE THOMPSON

Deborah Coats Thompson, 48, went to be with her Lord Wednesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Todd Wiggins and the Rev. Ray Smeltzer officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Debbie was born in Biloxi, Miss., Sept. 1, 1960, to Barbara Mansell Coats of Goldsboro and the late Dr. James Coats.

She was a homemaker, who enjoyed caring for her family. Debbie was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church and the Wayne County Home Extension Club.

In addition to her mother, Debbie is survived by her husband, Ron Thompson; her daughters, Jennifer Bailey and husband, Joey, of Rosewood and Amy Thompson of Goldsboro; her grandson, Joseph Bailey; and her brothers, David Coats and wife, Cheryl, of High Point and Michael Coats and wife, Alice, of Bonaire, Ga.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, 2000 L St. NW, Suite 710, Washington D.C., 20036.
