KENLY -- Walter Eugene Parnell, 78, of Richardson-Bass Road died Friday, May 1, 2009.
Graveside services will be held Monday May 4, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Kenly Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
He was born in Johnston County on April 17, 1931 to the late James and Mitchie Atkinson Parnell. Mr. Parnell was a Korean War Veteran.
He is survived by wife of 56 years, Janie Peedin Parnell; daughters, Shirley Parnell Huff and husband, Larry, of Goldsboro, Dale Graves and husband, David, of Dudley; son, Jerry Parnell and wife, JoLeigh Radford Parnell, of Smithfield; grandchildren, Dorian Graves, Devin Draves, Jenna Parnell, Julia Parnell, Jordan Parnell and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by son, Willie Eugene Parnell.
The family will be having a time of visitation at the home of Jerry and JoLeigh Parnell, 20 White Oak Drive Smithfield, N.C. this afternoon.
