Gladys Marie Hall, 87, passed away Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Cemetery of the Highlands in Highland Mills, N.Y.

She was originally from Monroe, N.Y., and had been a resident of The Pines and Britthaven Nursing Home since 1999.

Gladys was born in New York City on May 3, 1913, to William and Mary Ellen Ayres and was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew T. Hall. As a young girl, she performed as a ballet dancer at the Metropolitan Opera. Gladys was also an avid Mets baseball fan.

She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Morgan and husband, John, of Goldsboro, Charlotte Bielski of Washingtonville, N.Y., and Nancy Board and husband, Clarence, of Monroe, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Hall; her brothers, William and Arthur; her grandson, Joseph Bielski; one great-granddaughter; and one great-great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

John and Dottie Morgan will receive friends at their home, 100 Essex Court, from 5 to 7 p.m. today.
