DORIS W. MINCHEW
Died April 21, 2009
KENLY -- Doris Walls Minchew, 81, Memorial Church Road, died Monday.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Minchew-Coley Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jasper Renfrow, the Rev. Peggy Keech and the Rev. Dwayne Evans officiating the service. Burial will be at 2 p.m. today in the Whaley-Barnes Cemetery.
Mrs. Minchew was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Surviving family members are her husband, Stephen Minchew; son, Larry Stevie Minchew and Gail; daughter, Debbie "Twigg" Wilkins and husband, Larry; brothers-in-law, the Rev. Earl Minchew, Hillary Van Minchew and Othal Minchew; sisters-in-law, Peggy Keech and Linda Sue Toler; grandchildren, Larry Stevie Minchew Jr. and Amy, Phillip Wayne Minchew and Tonya and Kristie Johnson and husband, Jamie, Darren Jones and wife, Heather, Shannon Finch and Ashley Summer; 11 great-grandchildren; and special caregiver, Eleanor Pitt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Elizabeth Raper Walls; brother Billy Eagles; and sisters, Lillie Mae Howell, Hazel Ferrell, Elizabeth Walls and Beatrice Barnes.
The family received friends following the service at Minchew-Coley Funeral Home.
