PIKEVILLE -- Percy Braswell, 97, 1392 Airport Road, passed from this mortal life Sunday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
His life and legacy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Church of Christ Church (Disciples of Christ). He will be laid to rest in Fremont Cemetery.
He leaves precious memories to his beloved wife, Roxie Potts Braswell of the home; his children, Ida Vinson, John Braswell and Johnnie Braswell of Ft. Worth, Texas, Pete Braswell of Goldsboro, Vallie Rowe of Syracuse, N.Y., Rinnie Jackson, Melody Williams of Durham and Robin Williams of Raleigh; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 2 until 7 p.m. Friday with the family present to receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends at other times at the residence, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
