North Duplin crushes Neuse Charter in Carolina 1A baseball

CALYPSO -- Four North Duplin hurlers combined for a two-hitter as North Duplin dispatched Neuse Charter in mercy-rule fashion, 13-3, in a Carolina 1-A Conference game Saturday afternoon.
Copeland Brickhouse started and emerged as the winning pitcher. He held the Cougars hitless and retired three batters on strikeouts. Dustin Carter permitted one hit and logged one strikeout in one inning of work.
Ricky Cameron and DJ Morrisey combined for two innings of one-hit relief.
Emiliano Mora batted 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Caleb Cashwell contributed two hits and three RBI. Dustin Carter (two RBI), Hunter Thurston (RBI) and Ced Kornegay each had one hit.
The Rebels cranked out 13 hits on the day.
