Goldsboro's Hall qualifies for state 2A golf championships

SNOW HILL -- Goldsboro senior Matt Hall turned in a 6-over-par 78 during the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 2-A east regional contested at Cutter Creek Country Club on Monday.
Hall qualified for next week's NCHSAA championships.
The Cougars just missed qualifying as a team, finishing eight strokes behind third-place Farmville Central 329-337.
Luke McAlduff carded an 82, while Ruben Quiroz fired an 84. Ty West completed the Cougars' team score with a 93. Cam Anderson added a 98.
Defending state champion Cole Jeffreys, of SouthWest Edgecombe, won medalist honors with a 1-under 71.
