NL baseball squeezes past archrival

Defending Eastern Plains 2-A Conference champion North Lenoir upended county archrival South Lenoir, 3-2, on Monday evening.
Drew Burke scattered four hits, walked two and retired three Blue Devil batters on strikeouts. Orlando Cannon earned the save with two innings of no-hit relief.
Cannon sparked the offense with three hits. Braxton Greene, Joseph Harrison, Luke Jackson and Garrett Letchworth each contributed offensively.
North Lenoir (12-5 overall, 7-1 ECC) entertains Goldsboro today.
