ECC 3A players see their respective seasons end on Wilson CC links

WILSON -- Charles B. Aycock placed fourth overall as a team during the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A east regional played on the Wilson Country Club links Monday afternoon.

The Golden Falcons wound up seven strokes behind West Carteret, which claimed the last team spot for next week's NCHSAA championships.

Bryce Jones, the newly-minted Wayne County individual champion, and senior Noah West led the Golden Falcons' charge with identical 18-hole rounds of 83. Mitchell Langston and Blake Bartlett capped Aycock's team score with an 85 and 87, respectively.

Alex Weaver also played for CBA.

Drew Grady emerged as Eastern Wayne's top scorer with a 91. Teammates Victor Kokiko and Willis Underwood each turned in a 92.

Southern Wayne's Jon Langston had a 104.
