Rosewood trips up North Duplin in Carolina 1A baseball

Boone Moody and Ethan Chapin cranked out two hits apiece as Rosewood knocked off North Duplin, 6-3 in their Carolina 1-A Conference battle Monday evening.

The Rebels had seven hits on the night.

Nick Neal emerged as the winning pitcher. The lanky right-hander yielded three runs (two earned) on five hits and collected five strikeouts. Jordan Gurley and Moody combined for two innings of two-hit, three-strikeout relief.

Moody earned the save.

Hunter Thurston paced North Duplin's offense with two hits and RBI.

Ced Kornegay took the mound loss. The senior permitted six runs (five earned) on seven hits and retired eight Rosewood batters on strikeouts.
