Mrs. Margie Sykes Lassiter, 78, passed away at Duke Hospice Center of Durham, N.C., March 5, 2017.
Her homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Benson Revival Deliverance Center, 711 E. Branch St., Benson, N.C. Bishop James Avery Buie will be eulogist and eldress Gloria Herrington will preside. Mrs. Lassiter will be interred at Selma Memorial Garden of Selma, N.C.
Public viewing will be held Friday, March 10, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro, N.C. Mrs. Lassiter will lie in state one hour prior to the service Saturday.
Family and friends riding in the procession will meet at 132 J.C. Drive, Selma, N.C., at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Lassiter is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Cynthia L. Upchurch of Selma, N.C., and Ms. Patricia Lassiter of Clayton, N.C.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers; four sisters; and other relatives and friends.
