Thamitchel "Faye" Oates, 86, 309 E. Main St., Faison, died Thursday at Geneis Health Care.
Funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Poplar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with pastor Willie C. Alford officiating. Burial will be in Cobbs Cemetery.
Born in Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Almira Lofton Faison.
Six children survive.
Visitation will be 3 to 7 tonight at Garris Funeral Home chapel, with the family present 6 to 7. At other times, the family will be at the home.
