SHELVIA JEAN JONES BRITT

Shelvia Jean Jones Britt, 70, 2031 Lake Artesia Road, Faison, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, departed her earthly life Sunday evening, Aug. 16, 2015, at Sampson Regional Medical Center, as her loving and devoted family was all close at hand.
Born in 1944 in Warsaw, she was the daughter to the late Walter Steel Jones and Lucille Jones.
A graveside service to remember Shelvia and her life will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. in Devotional Gardens in Warsaw, with the Rev. David Jones officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Shelvia is survived by her husband of 50 years, Carl Neverne Britt; a daughter, Kim Strickland and fiancé, David Lassiter, of Beulaville; two grandsons, Kendell Strickland and fiancée, Anna Farrar, of Clinton and Tyler Strickland of Mount Olive; and three great-grandchildren, Morgan Jones, Emma Strickland and Blayden Strickland.
She is also survived by her special niece, Wendy Jones and husband, David, of Faison; her sister, Mavis Jones Butler and husband, Jimmy; a beloved niece and nephew; and two great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shelvia was predeceased by her special great-nephew, Thomas Jones.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Sampson Regional Medical Center for its care.
