HAROLD BLOUNT ARTHUR

Died Aug. 15, 2015

Harold Blount Arthur, 90, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at the North Carolina State Veterans' Home in Black Mountain.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Grimes Arthur, in 1985.

In 1941, at age 17, Harold left school to join the United States Marine Corps. He turned 18 on Guadalcanal, and fought with the 1st Marine Division in the Pacific Theater for more than two years before being honorably discharged in 1946.
