Donna Leigh Morris, 60, Goldsboro, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Donna was born in Macon, Ga., Oct. 6, 1954, to Marion Dale Sprinkle of Lizella, Ga., and the late Louise Wesley Rittenberry Sprinkle.

She was married to the late Anthony Edward Morris, who served as a detective with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

Donna retired from Civil Service at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

Donna struggled with her health for many years, and was a survivor of cancer.

She will be remembered by many for her love of life and its varied possibilities.

Donna spent many of her healthy years helping animals in need. There are many cherished animals that were given homes because of her care and concern for their welfare.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating.

The family will greet friends Sunday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.

Interment will be Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.

In addition to her father, Donna is survived by her sisters, Judy S. McStay of Titusville, Fla., and Peggi S. Dixon of Molino, Fla.; brother, Phillip Dale Sprinkle and wife, Jo, of Titusville, Fla.; stepmother, Anne Sprinkle of Lizella, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved very dearly.

She is also survived by her faithful K-9 friends and companions.
