Sally Cleo Britt, 86, a long time Mount Olive resident, passed away peacefully Friday evening, Dec. 19, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 7, 1928, to the late Uriah and Penny Joyner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, William S. Jones; siblings, Faison and Gladys Joyner, James Edward (Ed) and Eunice Joyner, Clement and Elsie Joyner and her twin brother, Pink Leo (Buddy) Joyner.

Cleo was a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Olive, a devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Whitfield officiating.

Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home, with visitors being received at other times at the home of Jerry and Angela Britt, 116 Pineland Ave., Mount Olive.

Mrs. Britt is survived by her husband of 67 years, Willie J. Britt; her daughter, Sandra B. Jones of Raleigh; son, Jerry U. Britt and wife, Angela; her grandchildren, Britt Jones and husband, Quent Byerley II, of Charlotte, Travis Lee and Allison Jones, of Charleston, S.C.; and twin grandsons, John Whitfield Britt and James Livingston Britt; great-grandchildren, Quent Edwin Byerley III and Livingston Britt Byerley.

She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Lynn Joyner, a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved with all her heart and a special friend, Pearl Crumpler.
