Dennis Lee Kirby, 62, Warsaw, passed away Dec. 17, 2014, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, N.C.
Mr. Kirby was born Sept. 1, 1952, in New Hanover County to the late Amos Kirby Jr. and Katie Mae Gore Kirby.
Mr. Kirby is survived by sister, Jenell K. Edmundson and husband, Gene, of Warsaw; sister-in-law, Cathy Best and husband, Bobby, of Mount Olive; niece, Jennifer Harrell and husband, Jacob, of Warsaw; nephews, Clayton Kirby and wife, Tammy, and Charles Kirby all of Warsaw; aunt, Esther Denning of Dunn; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by brother, Carl Amos Kirby.
Visitation will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at Johnson Baptist Church.
Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the church, and burial will conclude the service in Devotional Gardens.
The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Jenell K. Edmundson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Johnson Baptist Church, 477 Johnson Church Road, Warsaw, N.C., 28398.
