THEODORE TILGHMAN

Theodore Tilghman, 81, LaGrange, passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014.
Theodore was born June 6, 1933, in Lenoir County to the late Roland and Della Mae Lane Tilghman.
Theodore was a retired electrician, and in earlier years, farmed.
Theodore was a true sportsman, most comfortable outdoors on the water or in the woods.
He exhibited a unique sense of humor, and was deeply devoted to his family and their wellbeing.
A service of remembrance will be held Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at 5 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tony McLamb officiating. Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
A loving husband and father, Theodore is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Hazel Long Tilghman; son, Randol Tilghman and wife, Suzanne, of Waxhaw; two sisters, Barbara Tyndall of LaGrange and Carolyn Ferguson and husband, Glenn, of LaGrange; brother, Roland Tilghman Jr. and wife, Cookie, of Kinston; Hazel's sister and her husband, who were thought of as family, Dorothy and Bill King of LaGrange; along with a number of special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday following the service and at other times, the family will be at the home.
