MOUNT OLIVE -- A beautiful lady, Clypstine Byrd Ohlemacher, 80, received her wings Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013. Heaven's got to be celebrating her homecoming.

A native of the Beautancus community near Mount Olive, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley Byrd and Ellen Bell Byrd.

She was a member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church, and had been a waitress for the better part of her working years, many of which were spent in Naples, Fla.

Ms. Clipper, as she was fondly called, is survived by her six children and their spouses, Cathy and Larry Bronson of Mount Olive, Regina Williams of Georgia, Cynthia and Jeff Hales of Fayetteville, Vickie and Murray Williams of Clayton, Clifton and Charlene Blankenship of Salem, Mass., and Mitchell Blankenship of Naples, Fla.; two sisters and their husbands, Irma Mae and James Dudley of Mount Olive and Doris Faye and J. H. Sessoms of Clinton; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Ohlemacher, and two brothers, J. W. Byrd Jr. and Dennis Byrd.

Services to honor the life of Ms. Clipper will be held Sunday, Nov. 17, at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, to be officiated by the Rev. Mike Whatley and the Rev. Wade Hall Jr., with interment following in Brown Family Cemetery off Norwood Ezzell Road, Mount Olive.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday evening, Nov. 16, between the hours of 6 and 8, and other times at the Bronson residence, 591 Norwood Ezzell Road, Mount Olive.

The family welcomes caring thoughts by the sending of flowers to the service or by making a memorial gift to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
