JOANN ROSE EVANS

Joann Rose Evans, 74, Brogden Community near Smithfield, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013.

Born in Johnston County April 22, 1939, she was the daughter of the late George Edward and Ida Woodard Rose.

Mrs. Evans was a member of Tee's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, the Princeton Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Chapter 44.

She was also a hairdresser for 28 years.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Tee's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Pollock will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Surviving are her husband, Elton Evans; sons, Dennis Evans and wife, Jeannie, of Brogden, Kenneth Evans and wife, Tammy, of Princeton, Michael Evans and wife, Audrey, of Brogden and Brian Evans and wife, Heather, of Pikeville; daughters, Ginger Feldpausch and husband, Dale, of Mebane, and Kelly Benson and husband, Clay, of Princeton; her brother Edward F. "Hinky" Rose of Smithfield; 13 grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.
