RUTH QUINN OUTLAW

Mrs. Ruth Quinn Outlaw, Pleasant Grove community near Mount Olive, passed from this life to be in the presence of her Lord and savior early Friday morning, Nov. 15, 2013, while in the quietness and familiar surroundings of her home.
Her life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at Tyndall Funeral Home, with burial following at Devotional Gardens of Warsaw.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday, Nov. 17, from 7 to 9 p.m., and at other times, the family will gather at the Outlaw residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alum Springs Baptist Church, c/o Wayland Southerland, 645 Bennett Bridge Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365, or to one's favorite charity.
Born Aug. 9, 1922, in Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Annie Mae Boyette Quinn.
A native of the Warsaw area, she attended Campbell College.
A past employee of the Duplin County Register of Deeds Office and the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service of Duplin County, she had been a longtime active member and office holder in the extension homemakers county council and the Scott's Store Extension Homemakers Club.
First and foremost, she enjoyed her role as wife, mother and grandmother and her duties as homemaker, and being a farmer's wife was a vital part in the success of the family's farming operation.
Faithful to her God, she was a member of Alum Springs Baptist Church, serving as its treasurer for many years.
Mrs. Ruth, well remembered for her kind words and deeds, was a gentle soul, who lived her life as an example for all to follow. She was the embodiment of Christian values. In return, her life of more than 91 years was indeed truly blessed.
Mrs. Outlaw is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Faye O. and John Bartlett of Goldsboro, and their children, Megan Bartlett of Goldsboro and Travis Bartlett of Idaho; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gene Q. and Nanette Outlaw of Mount Olive, and their children, Joshua Outlaw and his wife, Julie, and Anna Outlaw all of Wilmington and Ashley Smith and Reid Smith of Pink Hill and Johnny R. and Teresa Outlaw and their children, Jamison Outlaw and Leslie Outlaw all of Mount Olive; a sister, Martha Chappell of Clinton; a brother and sister-in-law, Jesse "Teeny" and Marie Quinn of Warsaw; another sister-in-law, Mildred Quinn of Warsaw; her special caregiver and friend, Carol Langford of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews.
As Mrs. Ruth left the loving embrace of her surviving family, there waiting to welcome her home to heaven were her late husband, Eugene R. Outlaw; that infant babe that she had longed to hold; a beloved daughter-in-law, Nancy M. Outlaw; her parents; a brother, Clifton Quinn; and many dear and loving friends
