WEST HAVEN, CONN. -- Jesse Garner Sr., 56, of Longleaf Avenue, Goldsboro, N.C., passed away on Aug. 27, 2013, at the Veterans Hospital in West Haven, Conn.
He was born on Jan. 27, 1957 in Kinston, N.C. to the late Roscoe Garner and Amie (Rouse) Garner.
Jesse worked in the sanitation department for the City of Goldsboro.
He leaves to cherish his memories, daughter Jessica Thomas of Korea; son Jesse Garner Jr; sister Margaret Lewis of New Haven; brother Charlie Gray Jr. of LaGrange, N.C.; grandson Josiah Isaiah Brennan; two brothers-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Zavion LaRay Thomas.
A celebration of his life will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Union Temple Church 54 Platt Street New Haven, Conn., at 11 a.m., with calling hours Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.
