Conrad A. Bronner, 71, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Conrad was born in Norwalk, Conn., March 11, 1942, to the late Myron and Lillian Weaver Bronner.

Before moving to Goldsboro, he served as the chief engineer of Darien Volunteer Fire Department in Connecticut.

After following his family to North Carolina, Conrad worked for the city of Goldsboro for more than 31 years, the majority of the time as Goldsboro Water Plant superintendent. He was also a beloved employee at AMF Boulevard Lanes for 24 years, retiring last October.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

A service celebrating Conrad's life will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Carol Pierson officiating.

The family will receive friends in McChesney Hall at First Presbyterian Church Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Conrad is survived by his wife of 34 years, Debbie Bronner; their children, Matt Bronner, Shawn Bronner and Allison Bronner; and their granddaughters, Peyton, Emily and Eva.

He is also survived by his daughters, Donna Bronner and Debbie Bronner; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
