PILAR SCHMIDT

Pilar Gonzalez Fernandez Schmidt, 80, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.
Pilar was born in Madrid, Spain, Aug. 4, 1932, to the late Julio Gonzalez Alferez and Pilar Fernandez Marrondo. She was a faithful and dedicated Air Force wife to her husband, Manfred Gunther Schmidt.
Pilar will be remembered by her family as a caring, loving parent, grandparent and great-grandparent, whose primary goal was the happiness and security of her family.
Family and friends will gather for a private viewing of Pilar Schmidt Thursday, May 2, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, 1300 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro.
A memorial celebration will follow at the home, 805 S. Madison Ave., Goldsboro.
Pilar is survived by her husband of 53 years, Manfred Gunther Schmidt; her children, Julio Schmidt and wife, Rosi, Luisa Schmidt, Daniel Schmidt and wife, Lisa, Jose Schmidt and Maria Schmidt; her grandchildren, Miguel, Stephanie, Christopher, Kristina and husband, Luis, Michelle, Jacqueline, Nathan, Brianne and Haleigh; and her great-grandchildren, Ayla and Frankie.
She is also survived by her sisters, Carmen and Julia, and their families in Spain.
