SALLY ROWE HALES

Sally Rowe Hales, 79, went to be with her Lord Friday, May 3, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Sally was born in Wayne County Aug. 18, 1933, to the late Retus and Roxie Best Rowe.
She was a longtime member of Salem United Methodist Church.
Sally was devoted to her church, and was involved in many activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.
She began a career working with Carolina Power and Light Co. before she met her husband and married. Sally later went to work with Cherry Hospital, but retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital after 15 years of service.
Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev Sandy Schaller officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Sally is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles E. Hales; her sons, Charles S. Hales of Goldsboro, Richard E. Hales and wife, Tracy, of Wake Forest and Edward T. Hales and wife, Kris, of Goldsboro; and her grandchildren, Leigh, Lauren, Tyler, Trent and Andrew.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to Salem United Methodist Church, 2706 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 6, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
