Frances Whitley Rose, 89, passed away Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Frances was born in Wayne County March 28, 1923, to the late Joseph Stevenson Parks and Lila Smith Parks. She was married to the late James Edward "Jack" Whitley and Horace Greely Rose.
Frances retired from O'Berry Center.
She was a member of Selah Christian Church.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Patrick Muston officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.
Frances is survived by her son, Kermit Whitley and wife, Sue, of Grantham; grandson, Kevin Whitley and wife, Angela, of Grantham; great-grandson, Cash Whitley; and brother, Robert Parks of Goldsboro.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Corrine Price and Lois Langston, and brother, Earl Parks.
