MOUNT OLIVE -- Henry Stephen Sutton, 72, passed away New Year's Day at his home in Scott's Store community.

Son of the late Henry James Sutton and Thelma Houston Sutton, he was retired from Georgia-Pacific.

He was a member of Walker Memorial United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Blakely Sutton of the home; a son, Kevin Sutton and wife, Ashley, of Wilmington; two daughters, Stephanie S. Mitchell and husband, Ronnie, of Mount Olive and Kayla Swinson and fiancé, Brian Thornton, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Madison Sutton and Brantley Thornton; a sister, Janice S. McKenna of Georgia; and two children, Blake and Blakely Swinson, who were very special to Mr. Sutton.

A service to commemorate his life will be Thursday, Jan. 3, at 7 p.m. at Walker Memorial Church, N.C. 111 South, Seven Springs, and will be officiated by the Rev. Sherman Guthrie.

Visitation will immediately follow the service.
