JAMES GARLAND WELLS

April 22, 1947-Dec. 30, 2012

James Garland Wells, 65, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012.

Garland was born in Wayne County April 22, 1947, to the late Floyd Garland Wells and Etta Marie Turnage Wells of Goldsboro.

Garland was a retired veteran.

He was a true "entrepreneur," and had a special personality that will always be remembered and a multitude of talents that included being a master storyteller and a fantastic cook.

He was also a devoted fisherman and outdoors man.

Garland dearly loved his children, his grandchildren and his dogs. He will be especially remembered for how much he cherished his friends.

A service remembering Garland will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Heart of David Ministries, 202 S. Church St., Eureka, N.C., 27830.

Garland is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Wells Culbreth of Wilmington and Sissy Wells Burke of Princeton, and his four grandchildren, Megan and D.J. Culbreth and Joshua and Ivey Burke.

He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Beth Tew.

He is also survived by his beloved dogs, Dixie and Rebel.

He was proceeded in death by one of his best friends, Bobby Smith, and we believe they are together now hunting and fishing, getting the "BIG ONE."

Memorials may be made to Heart of David Ministries at the above address.
