Margaret Theresa Thompson, 92, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Father Patrick Keane officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 24, 1920, to the late John and Mary Miller Woods. She was the widow of the late James Thompson.
She is survived by two sons, John Thompson and wife, Rose, of Fuquay-Varina and Ken Thompson of Pennsylvania; one daughter, Lee Yahnker and husband, Ed of Goldsboro; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 10 a.m. until noon at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
