EARLEEN YVONNE HINTON

Earleen Yvonne Hinton, 78, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Evon" of 1 Vernon Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y., departed her earthly life peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2012, at the New York Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn, New York.

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, March 26, 2012, at 11 a.m. at McIntyre Funeral Chapel, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, with Elder John L. Graham officiating. Interment will follow atWayne Memorial Park North, 1191 Old Grantham Road.

Also, a public viewing will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012, at McIntyre Funeral Home and Florist, 900 South George St., from 10 until 10:55 a.m., with the family present to receive friends and other family members.

"Evon" was born in Pitt County on Dec. 4, 1933, to the late Arlee Blunt and Alfonso Ralph.

Earleen was educated in the public schools of Pitt County and attended South Ayden High School in Ayden.

Next, "Evon" moved to New York where she later attended Brooklyn Adult Training School for nursing to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN).

Later, she joined the Greater Free Gift Baptist Church where she sang in the Senior Choir.

In 1982, she joined the OES. Later, she became a Worthy Matron in The Most Worshipful Sons and Daughters of Haiti A.M. and F.M.

Earleen was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Hinton.

Mrs. Hinton leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories her children, three sons, Leon Jackson, Ray Jackson, Barrett Jackson and one daughter, Nadine Jackson; two brothers, Eddie Ackinson and Linwood Rouse; two sisters-in-law, Geneva Drake and Ernestine Hinton; two grandchildren, Michael Ray Jackson and Crystal Armstrong and husband, Louis; a very special niece, Teresa Baker and husband, Larry; a special godson, Rodney Pinckney; a host of grands, nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

The family will assemble at the residence of Mrs. Pricilla Bynum, 208 H Myrtle Place, Dudley, one hour prior to the funeral at 8:50 a.m. in preparation for the funeral procession.
