Susan Anderson Spencer, 91, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Susan was born in Wayne County May 16, 1925, to the late Robert Edward Anderson and Celia Beasley Anderson. She was married to the late Robert Spencer.
Susan was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
The family will received friends Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by a service in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with pastor Jack Sauls officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Family Cemetery.
Susan is survived by her daughters, Ruth Ann Bittinger and husband, Gale, of Garner, and Kathy Maroney and husband, Patrick, of Orlando, Fla.; her grandchildren, David Bittinger and wife, Christa, Amy Kunkle and husband, Mark, Erin Wolfgramm and husband, Everet, and Taylor and Kacie Maroney; her great-grandchildren, Emma and Easton Wolfgramm.
She is also survived by her brother, Tom Anderson and wife, Hilda, of Goldsboro and her sister, Edna Rose Blackmon of Four Oaks.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Nora Smith and Mildred Singleton, and her sister-in-law, Essie Mae Anderson.
The family would like to express a special thanks to her caregivers of Willow Creek Nursing Home and Kitty Askins Hospice Center for the love and kindness shown to their mother during her declining health.
