MOUNT OLIVE -- Cathy Sue Sutton Hardy, 52, Wendell, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 22, 2012, at Duke Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, officiated by the Rev. Richard Cuddington. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home Friday, Feb. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m., and at other times at the home of her mother, Lorraine W. Sutton at 970 Baker's Chapel Church Road, Mount Olive.
Cathy, a native of Mount Olive, was employed by the state of North Carolina as budget director of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
She is survived by a son, Travis Sutton Hardy of Wendell; a daughter and son-in-law, Nicole Hardy Lauster and Fred Lauster of Wendell; her mother, Lorraine W. Sutton of Mount Olive; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Harry E. and Dixie Sutton and Johnny M. Sutton all of Mount Olive; her former husband and the father of her children, Mike Hardy of Wendell; and her beloved canine companion, Schotzy.
Cathy's father, H. Ellsworth Sutton Sr., preceded her in death.
