SEVEN SPRINGS -- Jimmy Worth Holmes Jr., 46, Seven Springs died early Monday morning at his residence.

Born in Wayne County, Jimmy was the owner of Jimmy Holmes Paint Co. for the last 21 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Holmes.

In 1984, he graduated from the Job Corps of Tennessee.

Jimmy enjoyed building his business for the last 21 years, and supporting his wife, "Cookie," as she fulfilled her dream of becoming an artist and professional photographer.

A service to celebrate Jimmy's life will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Shermon Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery.

Family members will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of his sister, 339 Gurley Lane in Seven Springs.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Carol "Cookie" L. Holmes; his mother and stepfather, Eunice and Bud Lytton of Seven Springs; his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Johnny Carter of Seven Springs; nephews, Jonathon Carter of Seven Springs, Jake Hinkofer of Raleigh and Robert Labonte' of Goldsboro; and nieces, Nichole Hinkofer of Goldsboro, Renee Labonte' of Goldsboro and Emily Beck of Kingston, N.Y.
